4 days tour from Fez to Marrakech via Merzouga Sahara desert gives you the opportunity to have a real desert endurance ride camels and spend the night in a traditional Berber camp and to explore the most fascinating Morocco’s site such as Ifrane, Ceder forest in Azrou, Ziz valley, Gorges, Ait Benhaddou Kasbahs, Atlas mountains and much more.
Tour Itinerary
Day 1 : Fez - Ifran - Midelt - Ziz valley - Erfoud - Merzouga
In the morning around 8 am you’ll start travelling southeast via Ifran nicknamed Switzerland of Morocco or the cleanest city of Morocco, towards Sahara Desert Stopping at the famous and the largest cedar forest in Morocco where you will see the Barbarian apes, your journey continues along Midalt the Capital of apples then luxuriant Ziz gorges landscapes stopping in the panoramic views along the way. Thereafter driving through the welcoming Berber villages of Ziz valley. Getting to Erfoud the land of fossils. The trip continue to Merzouga which is your destination where the famous Erg Chebbi sand dunes existed. Night will be in hotel in Merzouga.
Day 2 : Merzouga zone - Gnawa house music - Visit Nomads - Night in desert camp
The second day will be related to the desert and Merzouga sightseeing, your driver/guide pick you up from your hotel on a 4x4 adventure car visiting the ancient areas and the natural resources of the Merzouga and its surrounded villages. Starting by Khamlia village knows for its black people and kind of music named Gnawa music that’s an opportunity to see a live music show, and continue to the mines of M'ifis-the older village in the area from in the 30s. Continuing the adventures off road in desert to meet Berber nomadic families, share with them their life experience that would be of course with cup of tea. The lunch will be different on the half day our company offers you a Berber pizza, cooked in the natural oven of clay, after lunch you drive back to the Hotel to prepare yourself to the camel ride, to live the beautiful sunset in the Dunes, spend the night in the camp, you accommodation will be at the camp in private tent, dinner will be in the middle of the desert with a starry sky, and also one of the most beautiful places where you can see the next day dawn.
The day will start by waking up early to see the spectacle of sunrise, when the color of the dunes combines with the play of shadows to make an awesome view. Then ride the camels back to meet your guide/driver and start your day with him by Rissani where it existed one of the main traditional markets, that was in the past a station for trade’s caravans. In addition that town was the foundation of the Alaouite dynasty – the current ruling royal family - in Morocco. The road passes through Erfoud the land of fossils and that would be an opportunity to see one of the many fossils mining (if you are interested).Continuing the way via Berber villages of Tinjdad to reach Todgha gorges a series of limestone river canyons, This stunning area affords an opportunities to walk and enjoy deep cliff-sided canyons. The night will be in Boumalne Dades in nice hotel.
Day 4 : Dades Valley - Rose Valley - Skoura - Ouarzazate - Ait Benhaddou - Marrakech
The last day will start from Boumalne Dades driving through the villages of this charming area,. Passing roses fields of Kelaa Magona known as Valley of the Roses famous for its Rose Festival in May, and via the road of a thousand Kasbahs toward Skoura oasis, then heading towards Ouarzazate known as Hollywood of Morocco, where you will stop to see the world’s largest movies studios Then the Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah which is the largest Kasbah in Morocco and also has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987 and several films have been shot there. From there start crossing the high Atlas mountains through pass named Tizi N’Tichka ,that reached an altitude of 2260m where you will stop to appreciate the mountain view befor arriving to Marrakech in the late afternoon.
